Hello 2019 Swim Team family,

Thank you to all who completed our survey regarding the possibilities for a 2020 Swim Team season. Following the minimal response, meetings with ASA regarding what the Swim Team season COULD look like and after tough discussions as a Swim Team Board, we have made the difficult decision not to participate in the 2020 ASA summer season. There were a lot of factors that went into this decision, inclusive of: requirements of temperature and health checks of all swimmers/coaches at every practice/meet without supplies from ASA, requirements of keeping social distance of swimmers on deck and in pool lanes, inability to allow any swimmer needing hands-on teaching from participating and the potential for what virtual meets would mean for our team (inclusive of swimmers, coaches and families).

In the meantime, there are a few important things to note:

• If you are a graduating senior - you DO have the option to participate in the 2021 season, even if you wouldn't have been eligible based on the age requirements.
• Since our team has opted out of participating this season, you DO have the option to participate on another team as ASA is waiving the "home pool" requirements for this season only.
• We are hoping to put together a summer Swim Program at Fontainebleau in lieu of a Swim Team season. We are still working out details around dates, plans and costs associated with that. The nice part is that all monies paid toward this program will go straight to paying for our coaches, 3 of which will be participating in the Swim Program. Look for surveys and more details to come in the next couple of weeks.

I know I speak for the board and our coaching staff when I say how grateful we are for our Fontainebleau Twister community! As we say, we are a small but mighty team and I know we will come back stronger than ever in 2021!
