Hello parents,

Swim team season is about to begin! A warm welcome to our new and returning swimmers for 2024--we are excited to have you! First a welcome to our swimmers from our 2024 coaching staff:

Co-Head Coaches:

• Naeem Mangum: Hello! My name is Naeem, and I am a Division 3 swimmer at Sewanee. I work year-round coaching children nearby my University from elementary to high school ages. I've coached at Fontainebleau once before and I'm excited to return and meet some new faces!
• Luke Sandberg: My name is Luke Sandberg and I am a junior at Dunwoody High School. I bring experience as I have been swimming competitively since I was 5 years old.

Assistant Coaches:

• Brooke Parkes: Hello, my name is Brooke Parkes. I am a rising sophomore at Dunwoody High School. I’ve been swimming for Fontainebleau since I was 5 and for the past few years have been swimming competitively for my schools. I’m thrilled for the upcoming season and can’t wait to meet all the new swimmers!
• Sophia Walker: Hi parents my name is Sophia Walker and I’m going into my junior year at Saint Pius X High School. I have done summer swim since I was 4 years old, and I have been a coach for coming up on my 4th season. I absolutely love swim coaching and plan to do it for as long as i can! I’m extremely excited for this season and can’t wait to get started!!

Junior Coach:

• Rachel Belknap: I will be going into 9th grade in August and will be transitioning into high school. I have also been swimming for 8 years, 2 of those in year round swim. I hope to make sure that each and every child will have fun this summer! I hope that you and your child have a great experience!

Practice Reminder: A reminder that practices will begin Monday!! The first two weeks are evenings only! Come prepared to swim--and bring a warm towel, as it might be a bit chilly. 

• May 13-16:
  • 12 and under: 5-6pm
  • 13 and up: 6-7pm
• May 20-23: 
  • 12 and under: 5-6pm
  • 13 and up: 6-7pm

Sponsorships: This year we are looking for new sponsorships for the FountainebleuTwisters. In the past sponsorships helped pay our coaches, purchase new equipment and go towards the awards. Let your sponsor know their logo will be displayed at our pool until Labor Day. 

We are offering the incentives below to swimmers who can bring in a new sponsor. 

• $50 off registration fee for a new Twister Champion sponsor ($175 level) 
• $70 off and a voucher for a free twister mud for one new Team Sponsor ($300 level) or two new Twister Champion sponsors ($175 level) 

Attached are the forms for sponsorship. We would like to order the banner by May 20th. So we still have some time. Please email Aimee Walker ([email protected]) with questions or completed forms.

Fontainebleau Twisters Swim Team Board for 2024: We couldn't do swim team without the efforts of our volunteer swim team board members. A huge thank you to all and please note that we do have 1 position available for the 2024 season. Reach out to Jen if you're interested--you do get a lovely perch seat from the balcony at home meets and we have a/c! We will provide training!

Merchandise orders: All merchandise orders have been placed for the season. We will coordinate a pick up at practices as soon as suits/t-shirts arrive. Look for more info soon! Swim caps are always available for sale at any meet for $5.

Stock the concession stand: Because of our small team size, look for a sign up genius to come soon to help us stock our concession stand with paper products, plasticwear and drinks for home meets! We are well known for our amazing spread of food we sell at the Twister Cafe at home meets including freshly grilled hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, an array of chips, an amazing assortment of sides (brought by our swim team families) and of course, our famous Twister Mud!

We may be small, but we are mighty...we are the Fontainebleau Twisters!
